  1. What do you know? A mini forest on top of a small roof! That's quite a sight! That perfectly describes a green roof, literally and figuratively speaking. =)

  2. Scandinavians love to have those kinds of homes. This type of roof provides a solid foundation for your home, while giving it great insulation. And in the long term, it improves your overall health through air quality improvement! Now, that's the reason why most Scandinavians live longer!

  3. Whoa! I wonder how long the roof of that house would be able to handle all the weight of those mini trees growing on top of it. For some reason, it reminds me of Shrek’s house by the swamp. Hehe! Anyway, it still looks awesome.

  4. I agree with Max here. The trees can’t be left unattended, as the roof might collapse due to their added weight. Be sure you have the right knowledge before doing something like this. Maybe the owner of the house is an expert roofer himself, or he got help from some proficient roofers in his area.

  5. It’s just amazing how they came up with this kind of roofing design. But you have to wonder how they managed to strengthen the foundation of the house to support the added weight of the greenery on the roof. The first concern over that kind of roof is how to improve the capacity of the roof structure and the foundation, given that green roofs have to carry an additional load of 25 to 100 pounds per square foot, as compared to traditional roofs.
